My Running Story

I have been running for 6 years and never took it seriously. I ran to lose weight and try to get healthy but I never realized how running could improve my mental and emotional state. I suffered from postpartum depression and that was the catalyst that set me in my running journey. I have discovered so much about myself and made some life long friends along the way.

Running has improved every aspect of my life. It has helped maintain my weight loss, my mental and emotional health, and I am more confident. I am stronger than I ever thought I was. I am accomplishing goals I never thought I could.

My Best Advice:

Take it slow and stay consistent. You won’t see improvements over night but you will see them over time. Be patient with yourself and keep striving to accomplish your goals!

Beyond Running, I do This to Stay Healthy:

I try to eat healthy and make sure to take a quiet time for myself. I have Hidradenitis Suppurativa and IBS so my diet, physical, mental, and emotional health can impact those health issues.

My Next Goal:

I would love to break 1,000 miles! And to run as many in person 5k and 10k races as I can!

My RTCL Involvement:

This group has made such an impact on my life. No matter what is going on (running related or not), I know they have my back. That type of support is priceless.
